Henderson, NC—Hope Quilt by survivors of rape and domestic violence offers hope and
reassurance to others who have been victimized.
April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month. To commemorate, a local group of the national Hope
for Healing.Org will be displaying the Hope Quilt on April 15 from 2—5 at the Comfort Inn
Brookhollow located at 4760 Sherwood at Mangum and 290.
Called "a rape survivors' Vietnam Memorial" by one survivor, this small but powerful quilt
contains over 150 squares representing survivors from all over the globe. Visitors will be invited
to create a square to be added to the quilt and information about sexual assault will be available.
Anyone who is a survivor or has supported a survivor emotionally will want to see this display.
Please join us as we stand together to speak out through this project about this crime.
To offset the cost of the display donations of used cell phones and used ink-jet cartridges will be
accepted.
