OSHA is working on guidelines for violence on the job they say in a letter linked below.
We must contact our lawmakers to let them know this is important to us.
Every person deserves the right to be safe where they work.
Every person has reason to expect their employers to provide security in dangerous occupations.
Yet we are finding out the hard way that this is not the case. In fact, in my state as in most others you
cannot sue your employer for damages sustained during an altercation at work. At this writing, fall of 2002, most states limit you to
what is only allowable under worker's compensation.
